Things didn't go our way in the Y14, and Emiliano finished 9th, losing to John Hallsten (Sacramento) in the top 16.
The next day in Cadet (Y16) things went much better. He went 5-1 in the pools and earned a bye--which put him in the top 64. In the final 32, Emiliano came back from an 2-8 deficit to win 15-13 against Larsen (Portland). But then he drew (the eventual champion) Michael Mills, and was knocked out--finishing 11th (an excellent result--all things considered). Two more years in the Cadet level to move up.
Saturday is Junior Team competition with his DC Fencers teammates Peters Souders (Boston College), Aaron Ruby (Haverford College), and Michael Josephs.
Sunday is the wrap up with Junior (Y19) individual competition.
